Full Job Description

Our client formed in 2012 has experienced significant growth to become a multi- disciplined contractor specialising in civil engineering, reinstatement and utilities.

They currently have a vacancy for an experienced Plant and Transport Manager based from the head office Coventry, reporting directly to the MD, the role is to oversee the day to day management of the HGVs, vehicles and plant.

This is a varied role and requires significant and proven experience working in a busy, fast paced office and yard, you will need a high level of initiative, personal judgement, professionalism and flexibility as you will be required to complete a broad range of tasks being a hands-on team leader who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves.

The role will be to ensure that company service levels, safety and legal compliance are applied at all times. You will be supported by our Senior Transport Coordinator, the office administration team and our in house mechanics.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with all quality and legal Health and Safety documentation and standards.
To monitor driver compliance to tachograph rules and actively support drivers who require coaching to improve their compliance counselling any infringements through de-brief and escalation as required, following the company procedures or re-training as needed.
Maintain fleet compliance, focusing on defect reports, servicing, and MOT's.
Proactively manage team members' performance.
Identify employee training requirements including mandatory regulatory training, checking driver's vocational driving licences every 3 months.
Provide or arrange relevant training to team members to ensure compliance as well as development.
Act following the company's values and management principles within the department.
Provide the team with expert knowledge, advice, leadership, motivation and addressing areas for improvement.
Actively recruit drivers for new roles ensuring they can adhere to all DVSA and company requirements.
Provide practical solutions to operational challenges and take ownership of problems and deal with them effectively.
Liaise with Project Management team to ensure they have full understanding of Drivers hours, assisting them with work/route planning.

Key Skills

Fleet management experience - essential
Transport Manager CPC - essential
IOSH Managing Safely - desirable
Full UK Driving Licence
Have a positive working attitude and able to work under pressure
Have extensive industry experience (knowledge of Drivers Hours, tachograph)
Experience in construction plant & machinery, including LOLER and PUWER regulations
Ability to drive a team on, set high standards of work and communication

Working hours Monday to Friday 7am - 5pm (1/2 hour lunch) flexible hours are negotiable for the right person and will be subject to change to driver and vehicle requirements

Job: Warehouse Stock Controller
Salary: £25,000 - £27,500
Location: Staffordshire

Our client is a leading provider of quality-assured road transport, warehousing and driver training services to clients throughout the UK. They are looking to recruit a practical hands-on team player to co-ordinate our inbound and outbound Warehouse stock movements, utilising our Warehouse Management System to record all stock activity and produce customer invoices.

This role will involve:

Setting up customer products and stock configurations on our Warehouse Management System.
Daily receipt and processing of all inbound and outbound stock movement orders, ensuring that they always meet customer requirements.
Logging details of all stock movements into the Warehouse Management System.
Working closely with the Forklift Truck drivers regarding order picking / fulfilment and inbound stock locations, and providing FLT cover at busy times of the day.
Communication with the Transport Office Team regarding the despatch and delivery of customer orders.
Producing stock reports and movement updates in accordance with customer requirements.
Completion of regular stock checks and audits of storage freight.
Providing system support for the Company's Transport Management System, including the setting up of rate schedules and the production of KPI reports for key customers.
Providing customer quotations for individual consignments.
Producing Warehouse and Transport invoices.

The successful candidate for this position will have the following skills:

Strong IT Skills, to enable in-depth use of our Warehouse Management System, and support for our Transport Management System. A process-driven individual with strong MS Excel skills, together with a working knowledge of Crystal reports would be ideal for this role.
A 'Hands-On' Approach and commitment to see the job through to completion.
Accuracy/Attention to Detail is essential to enable the maintenance of detailed stock records.
Organisational Ability: In a busy and time-sensitive environment, this skill is fundamental to the provision of the highest standards of service to our customers.
Communication and Team Working Skills: The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and drivers in a professional manner, to achieve operational efficiency.
A Flexible Approach: Because our Business operates 24 hours per day, flexibility of working hours is required.

Reach Truck & Counterbalance FLT licences and experience will be essential for this role. Additional training will be provided if one of these licences is held.
Working hours are 08.00hrs to 17.00hrs, Monday to Friday.
