Job Description

A bespoke manufacture in Birmingham are looking for a Technical Coordinator. They will be responsible for supporting the business by carrying out technical administrative duties and writing technical documentation to support various functions.


Monday to Thursday- 07:30 to 16:00 with 30 mins for lunch (13:00 to 13:30) and Fridays- 07:30 to 12:30,

25 days holiday plus bank holidays, increasing to 26 days after 3 years service


£24,000 to £28,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Duties and responsibilities
• Overseeing the product approvals process including the following:
• Interpretation of the relevant standard documents to establish testing requirements.
• Collation of the required technical information for submission (drawings, specs, test data etc).
• Management of the applications process from submission to approval, including communicating with the relevant approval bodies.
• Maintaining & reporting on progress and approvals status.
• Providing cover and support for the following on the ERP system:
• Setting up new part numbers
• Setting up new BOM's and Routes based on existing products or input from Production and Engineering.
• Setting up and reviewing product costs on the system.
• Writing technical documentation to support production and admin area across the business, such as:
• MI's - Manufacturing Instructions
• SOP's - Standard Operating Instructions
• PI's - Process Instructions (for manufacturing and administrative processes)
• Supporting and carrying out audits across the business as required
• Monthly reports - reporting progress on the above items.
• Any other duties that may from time to time be reasonably expected.

Qualifications/ experience
• Methodical approach with good attention to detail essential.
• Able to demonstrate the ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Have a technical mind to help understand the product range.
• Understanding of ERP Systems and demonstrate experience of using them.
• Possess excellent communications skills.
• Be proficient in using Microsoft Office packages with good Excel knowledge.
• Previous experience updating ERP data such as BOMs/Routings desired but not essential.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work as part of the wider business team.
• A good attitude, flexible to challenges and possible changes is essential.
• Familiar with regulatory approvals desirable, but not essential.
• Appreciation of luxury brands and their requirements.
