Transport Supervisor - Bolton - £25,500 starting salary

A large part of the daily activities will include managing and improving driver behaviors, infringements and vehicle efficiencies.
Process Management:
Good communications skills and able to clearly engage with drivers on ensure they complete their daily activities, including any special instructions required by our customers.
The issuing of keys and other assets in line with our legal obligations.
Reporting Breakdowns and following up response times.
Taking ownership of the day to day work plan in line with transport KPIS and coordinating and planning the following day's activities.
Co-coordinating and executing agency and Subco requirements in line with the transport daily plans.
Ensuring all other work declarations, RTWs, Infringements have been communicated with drivers and successfully signed off.
Daily checks to ensure all drivers receive a license check and PPE.
Communicate all stored briefs to drives and any special requirements.
Undertake infringement discussions with drivers within the correct timeline and follow up any appropriate actions.
Report all Vehicle defects, escalate any damage related defects to the transport manager. Ensure all damage is fully investigated with supporting evidence and driver statements.
The control and checking of all agency work declarations and agency paperwork is completed, checked and filed.
Escalate any illegal non compliance immediately, and ensure driver is not placed on the road.

Job Description: Our client are a family owned Temperature Controlled Distribution specialist based in the Vale of Evesham. They deliver mainly to Supermarket RDC's throughout the UK on a daily basis from our consolidation centre. Our customers supply the nation with Fresh Produce, Chilled Foods and Bakery goods.

Working Sunday to Thursday from 04:00am-14:00pm with 1 hour of breaks you will be required to produce a plan covering collection of products nationwide.
Main Duties Include: 1. Organisation of delivery and collection of products at agreed times within customer requirements regarding the quality, safety, and legality of the product. 2. Produce efficient, cost-effective solutions for the delivery and collection of products. 3. Book resources in line with Company Procedures, adhering to budgets as advised by the Operations Manager 4. Works closely with the Fleet & Training Manager to ensure all vehicles and trailers are available when testing is required and or maintenance procedures. 5. Flexible in working hours to ensure all Operational roles and tasks are covered daily. 6. Undertake other activities as requested by the Operations Manager or Head of Operations. You will report directly to the Operations Manager and will follow a structured induction programme to learn all about our process and procedures.
You will be expected to be flexible during the first few weeks as we teach you the basics of our processes before settling into your regular shift patterns. The right person will be an outgoing individual with a good general geographic knowledge. The ability to think analytically and work as part of a team to solve problems effectively. Previous experience within a Transport Office or Planning role would be a distinct advantage.
