Job Description

An Architectural designer in Birmingham are currently looking for a skilled CNC Programmer. 


Key Tasks/ Accountabilities

- Manufacture a variety of parts in 316 Stainless Steel and Brass from engineering drawings or concept.

- To programme, set and operate FANUC based VMCs and TCs and XYZ ProtoTRAK based milling machines and lathes.

- Setting the machines before each job run and performing associated first-off quality checks.

- Ensure the work area is maintained in a clean and tidy manner and that safe working practices are adopted.

- Perform visual quality checks in line with SOP's.

- Continually endeavour to reduce job run-times.

- Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures at all times.

The Successful Applicant:

- Working knowledge of FANUC and XYZ ProtoTRAK programming software - certification in these would be highly advantageous.

- 2 years' experience of programming, setting and operating 3-axis CNC machines (VMC's) and lathes with C-axis and driven tools.

- Engineering background with a good understanding of engineering and machining principles.

- CAM experience for creating CNC programs - Solidworks and HSMWorks would be advantageous.
