CNC Saw Operator (Nights)
Job description
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our expanding team and work as a CNC Saw Operator at our manufacturing site in Full Sutton. We have one of the most advanced manufacturing facilities in the industry and pride ourselves in our technological investments. The successful candidate will operate a sophisticated 5-axis CNC saw line and cut slabs of stone into worktop pieces. The role includes quality checking the slabs, programming the cutting sequence and loading/unloading the machine which is capable of cutting 25 slabs per shift which can equate to over 100 worktop pieces.
The role is permanent and the working hours are 4pm – 1am Monday to Friday.
Any overtime is paid at a rate of time and a half and is paid every 15 minutes. During our busy periods, generous amounts of overtime is available.
Salary: £29,400-£33,400.00 per year
About the role
Use an overhead crane to load the CNC saw line
Inspect slabs of varying material types to ensure high-quality standards are met
Programme the cutting sequences of the 5-axis CNC saw to suit each individual order
Perform post process quality checks to ensure dimensions are as per the technical drawings
Label pieces as per the technical drawings
Follow the production schedule to ensure orders are processed in the correct order and update the schedule accordingly
Perform routine maintenance
About you
We are looking for an individual with a strong work ethic to join our growing team. This role is key to the overall success of our manufacturing output and requires somebody who works well as part of a team and individually, whilst being confident working to deadlines. The successful candidate must have excellent attention to detail, be process driven and extremely reliable.
Experience in worktop fabrication or machine operating is preferred however, comprehensive training will be given to the successful candidate so experience isn’t vital. As no experience is required, this role is well suited to someone looking to start a career in CNC machine operating and is keen to learn and better themselves.
